Millbrook Confirmed as a 'Good' School with Outstanding Features

Thoroughly overturning its historical ‘Requires Improvement’ grading, Lead Inspector Lea Hannam, praised the school for achieving two ‘Outstanding’ judgements for Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development, with Quality of Education, Leadership and Management and Early Years provision judged as ‘Good’.

Head of School Faye Charlton said:  “It was lovely that Ofsted recognised what we have known for some time now, that pupils’ behaviour is exemplary and we have an amazing school where we all work together - pupils, staff, families and community – to ensure that high expectations permeate throughout and our pupils achieve well. 

We would like to thank everyone for making Millbrook an amazing place for children to start their educational journey. This is the first time Millbrook has been graded as ‘Good’ in 26 years, and that’s certainly something we’ll be celebrating!”

Mrs Charlton continued: “We couldn't be prouder - this report gives us even more reasons to be extremely proud of our pupils. It is wonderful to read that: “Pupils see Millbrook as an exciting and happy school; classrooms are free of disruption; pupils are polite and courteous and “show their ‘Millbrook manners’ consistently well."  

Our core values as a school of 'Kindness and Responsibility' also shone through the report, stating "Older pupils act as strong and inspiring role models. Millbrook’s ‘kindness crew’ look out for issues to solve in the playground and the sports leaders ensure that all feel included."

Mrs Charlton summed up “Our journey is of continual improvement and so we will strive to push ourselves to develop and ensure we offer a positive, safe and successful learning experience for all our children. I have no doubt that we will achieve our ultimate aim of being an outstanding provider in the near future.”
